Basmati Rice
…the most universally renowned food!
Rich in vitamins and minerals, it facilitates the function of the gastrointestinal tract, unlike common white rice, as it is a low glycemic index food and thus does not cause a sudden rise in blood sugar levels.

Basmati rice is a variety of long-grain white rice, mainly grown in Pakistan and India. This type of rice releases unique aromas when cooked while it expands more than twice in volume!
Cook it in all the classic ways, ideal for exotic recipes.
How to cook it
Rinse the rice to remove its starch in case we desire to have a fluffy result.
Put it in a pot with 2 ½ cups of water, add olive oil, pepper, salt, lemon zest and if we desire to have a rather exotic result, we can add curry and rosemary. Bring rice to a boil and then lower the heat, cover the pot with the lid and simmer for 15 minutes until it absorbs the water. Let it stand for a while and serve.
